World Ventil8 Day 2024:

‘Enabling Action’ To Improve Indoor Air Quality Globally

On November 8th, the third annual World Ventilation Day (WV8D) will spotlight the push for high-level policy changes and encourage grassroots action. This year’s theme, ‘Enabling Action,’ aims not just to raise awareness of indoor air quality (IAQ) but to push for meaningful, lasting change in the construction industry.

Supported by professional and trade bodies, universities, and environmental groups worldwide, World Ventil8 Day has been raising awareness about the critical role ventilation plays in protecting our health, well-being, and productivity since 2022.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) links poor indoor air quality to 3.8 million premature deaths each year. Last year’s WV8D campaign, ‘Breathe Better, Live Better,’ raised awareness globally about the alarming rise in premature deaths linked to poor IAQ, damp, mould, smoking, and indoor pollutants.

Now in its third year, the campaign is gaining momentum, pushing for more awareness and real change. In the run-up to the day, and on November 8th itself, the campaign will share videos with practical tips to improve IAQ and interviews with influential voices from the field.

Supporters are being encouraged to download the WV8D toolkit to help spread the word online, and the campaign is keen to hear stories about how improving air quality has made a difference. Anyone who wants to contribute a story or become a supporter can reach out via info@worldventil8day.com.
